又名：阿拉斯加大淘金、阿拉斯加金矿的赌注、金矿的赌注、淘金热、淘金潮；是英国制作公司Raw Television为探索频道制播的真人实境节目，纪录来自美国俄勒冈州克拉克默斯县杉迪市的6名男子在全球经济衰退期间失去了原有的工作，之后他们决定作出生命中的巨大豪赌，起身北上前往阿拉斯加州的波克潘溪，试图开采当地的黄金，然而在这6个人中大多数人均毫无淘金、挖金的经验，等于他们必须重新开始学习如何开采黄金，据估计阿拉斯加州当地蕴藏着总价值约2500亿美元的黄金，现今又是一个金价大涨的时代，这些人下的赌注能不能得到回报，完全看他们能否找到黄金的蕴藏地点，一直要等到找到足够数量的黄金平衡矿场人事、机具开销后才能开始赚钱获利，找不到的人将落得一无所有的下场。
由于阿拉斯加州当地黄金的分布型式并非以矿脉的方式隐藏在地底深处，而是散布表层土壤中，所以开采的方式不像传统的挖坑地下开采，而是以露天的方式向下开采，先用大型推土机整地，挖开地表坚硬的永冻土层，把这些永冻土移除后才能挖到含有黄金的泥土层，再用挖土机把这些泥土放进洗矿机后混合大量的水，搭配黄金跟泥土的比重不同的物理特性，即可顺利筛洗出黄金。
开采泥土、淘筛黄金的过程中会发生各种状况，例如同为开采员工间的言语肢体冲突、找不到蕴藏黄金的泥土迟迟淘不到黄金的压力、推挖土机发生故障无法动工使得采矿作业因此停摆、洗矿机水质太浊导致土石纷纷沉降机器底部，让黄金无法顺利沉降而平白流失、阿拉斯加渔猎部人员进入开采工地进行工安审查，对违规事项进行开罚，甚至因员工缺乏工安训练文件而下令关闭矿场……等，在节目中即会看到这些人如何一一克服这些突发状况
